Sarah Plain and Small

When Gabrielle Giffords was gravely wounded along with several others by a young unhinged man, and six innocent bystanders killed, something absolute and unconditional happened: a nation split by politics, debates, innuendos, pointing fingers, blaming others, and selfish prattling, was moved to unite and to reprioritize what is important.

And in a far corner in Alaska, Sarah Palin could only take the low road and interpreted the whole episode in Arizona and references to her “cross hairs map” personally.

Sarah, here’s my message to you: Shut up and sit down. It is not about you.

To repeat the words of President Barak Obama:

We can be better.

Hi Jeanie; I am not usually defending Sarah; but I think the facts here are that someone accused her "crosshair" statement as causing this young man to kill.....in other words, holding her responsible for these deaths..... that was just her response.

Thanks, Gerry. Yeah - I realize that, too. But she would have been better off just not saying anything at all. It would have passed and gone away. IMHO.

I am so glad you are still reading me, Texas Playwright Chick (I think your name is Cheryl??). I know that my blog has kind of gotten gloomy, but really - I am doing great! Nobody wants to hear all that dialysis crap until I try to explain something and then I tell them, it would just be easier to write it up, like a thesis. I would much rather write about something else, like my kids' moving out of state and leaving me an empty nester without also leaving me with grandchildren. The brats.

I know Palin went defensive because many were sighting her cross-hairs, but, come on, that was a pretty stupid ploy in the first place. Additionally, if you listen to or read her speech, she spent all of about 45 seconds expressing remorse and the next 6 1/2 minutes talking about herself. Jeanie hits this nail square on the head.
